We had such a great time at the Rest & Recharge Mid-Week Mini-Retreat with bestselling author Jennifer Louden.
Jen Louden is a personal growth pioneer who helped launch the self-care movement with her first book The Woman’s Comfort Book. She’s the author of 5 additional books on well-being and whole living, including The Life Organizer, that have inspired more than a million women in 9 languages.
Jen has spoken around the world on self-care, written a national magazine column, and even sat on Oprah’s couch talking about the power of retreats. She believes
self-love + world-love = wholeness for all
Over the years of following Jen’s work, I began to think of her as my “heart coach.” On many occasions, her wisdom centered me, her transparency calmed me, and her compassion inspired me.
As part of our “You Matter. We Need You.” campaign, Jen is coming to Mount Vernon High School to share her story of struggling with and finding her way through depression. She graciously offered to do a fundraiser for the Community Resiliency Project while in town.
We’re inviting all women to gather with Jen, who is passionate about helping women find their center and practice self-care no matter what. She’ll
- lead us in relaxation
- facilitate a rousing discussion about exhaustion especially for moms, servant-leaders, and teachers
- share a few smart brain resiliency tools we can all support each other in making part of our lives.
Part being, part connecting, and part learning, you’ll leave feeling more rested and inspired.

No prior experience with meditation is necessary. Nothing is necessary…except you coming exactly as you are. You are enough.
Actually, you are more than enough and we are really glad you’re here.
You matter. We need you.
