Dr. Peg Kerr
Dr. Peg Kerr currently serves as Chair the University of Dubuque Nursing Department. She has been a nurse for 36 years, and has worked in the roles of Staff Nurse, Staff Development Coordinator, Director of Nursing, and Nurse Educator. She received Bachelor of Science and PhD degrees from The University of Iowa and an MS degree from Winona State University. Prior to her current role at the University of Dubuque, Dr. Kerr served on the faculty of The University of Iowa College of Nursing. Her work has been published in several academic journals and she has presented her research at the Midwest Nursing Research Society Annual Meeting, the Council for the Advancement of Nursing Science, and the Informatics Institutes at the University of Iowa. Peg has an appointment as a Fellow in The Center for Nursing Classification and Clinical Effectiveness at the University of Iowa College of Nursing, and serves on the Board of Trustees of Finley Hospital in Dubuque. She and her husband, Mark, raised all three of their children in Mount Vernon, Iowa and continue to reside in the community.
